Finley-Sharon Junior High students, Kathryn Kroeplin, Isaiah Bland, Jr., Cove Harris, & Patrick Bremer attended a Math Meet at Mayville State University today. Our team placed 7th out of 8 schools; our team score was 156 points overall. Kathryn K. was our team’s highest scoring individual, with 40 points scored! President Vanhorn also stopped by to say a few words to the kids. The team is coached by Ms. Sarah Scheitel.
Finley-Sharon's Kathryn Kroeplin & Patrick Bremer participated at the ND State Spelling Bee in Bismarck, representing Steele County, on Monday, March 18th. Spellers were seated for their written session at 9:00am in the Bismarck Event Center. The written test is broken down into three parts. After each part is complete, the tests make their way to their correcting room. Each test is corrected three times to ensure accuracy. Although neither Kathryn or Patrick moved on from the written session, they enjoyed the experience!
There is no school for students at Finley-Sharon on Friday, March 15th. Enjoy your long weekend!
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held this Thursday, March 14th from 3:45-9:00pm. Report cards will be available to parents when you come in to visit with teachers!

Pre-School Parents--There will be Kindergarten Screening at the Finley-Sharon School on Wed., April 17th from 9:30-11:00 am for students who will be entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2024. (Must be 5 years old before July 31st.) Contact the school office at 701 524-2420 if you have any questions. **PLEASE BRING A COPY OF YOUR CHILD'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE. Updated immunizations will be needed by the first day of school, Aug. 21, 2024.
The Keep ND Clean Poster Contest have been determined! Congratulations to the Finley-Sharon winners…Grade 2: Brynn Sherrard, Grade 4: Ryot Evenson, Grade 5: Delphine Harris, & Grade 6: Macie Linster. Their posters will now move on to the State contest!

The filing deadline for the Finley-Sharon School Board has been set for APRIL 9, 2024 BY 4:00 pm. School Board election will be held on June 1th, 2024. Two truly at-large positions are open.
Tuesday., Feb. 27th: Finley-Sharon will transition to a virtual learning day, due to continued hazardous winter weather.
Finley-Sharon School and buses will be 2 hours late today, Tuesday, February 27th. If we need to transition to virtual learning we will notify everyone later this morning.
Preparations for Potential Weather Event: Finley-Sharon is preparing in case of the full forecasted weather event hitting our area tonight. If the weather event dictates us to not have in person learning tomorrow, we will transition to virtual learning. This is simply a precaution. We hope to have in person learning tomorrow.
